Volunteer at the Scotties

Join the spirit of the 2018 BC Scotties Provincial Curling event! As a volunteer, you will be a part of the excitement as teams compete for the opportunity to represent BC at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton. If you are available to volunteer for a few hours, a day or the whole week we would love to hear from you!


Volunteers are not charged anything for helping at this event. On the contrary, all volunteers will receive: a) a free t-shirt; and b) a free draw admission ticket after every shift worked. (Admission ticket good for any draw prior to the playoffs).


Selling: event tickets, raffle tickets, programs and 50/50 tickets

Bankers: collect tickets and money and reconcile cash


Set up and take down: ice covering, bleachers, pipe and draping, scoreboards and signage.


January 2, 2018 - Security from 430 pm to 630 pm


Two muscular volunteers with a truck needed for:

Dec 30, 2017 or Jan 2, 2018 to pick up tables

Jan 5, 2018 to pick up trees and shrubs in pots

Volunteers needed for:

Jan 1, 2018 - set up tables for reception. (1-2 hrs in afternoon)

Jan 2, 2018 - set up tables and decorations for VIP reception (1-2 hrs)

Jan 3 – 7 - set up snack food and coffee for players and volunteers, refill and restock food and drink items, tidy food area (2-3 hr shifts)


Volunteers who are currently (or former) competitive curlers and have competed at the zone level. Duties include entering statistics into online program.

Statisticians are required to attend a course offered by Curl BC. If you are unable to attend please send an email to Paul Malnarich (

Distributing t-shirts to all Scotties volunteers - mid December for 2-3 hour shift (day or evening)


Security for hospitality lounges (players, officials, and volunteers)

Patrolling facility (and assisting fans as required)
