A group of volunteers, led by VCC Board President Andrew Komlodi, are working to bring the Tim Hortons Brier to Victoria in 2024:
Dear Curlers and Curling Fans,
We need your help to bring the 2024 Tim Hortons Brier to Victoria!
Do you want to support the world’s best curling (and party) coming to Victoria? A local team of volunteers is working on a bid for Victoria to host the 2024 Tim Hortons Brier from March 1-10, 2024. You can support the bid today by taking two simple actions: (1) Signing up to be a volunteer and/or (2) Pledging your intention to buy tickets.
Why Volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will experience this world-class event from a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective. You will have the opportunity to be up close and personal with some of the best curlers in Canada, playing a critical role in the success of the event. There are a variety of volunteer roles, including set-up and takedown, working in the stands during games, selling event merchandise, bartending in the patch, and working behind the scenes at various venues. Volunteers are also needed for a variety of media and on/off ice roles as well as assisting in keeping lounges stocked with refreshments and food. Pre-Ticket Sales Drive
As a part of the bid we must show there is significant support for hosting within our community. How can you help? You can pledge your intention to purchase championship-weekend or full-event ticket packages for this fantastic event. By doing so, you will get access to the presale codes to purchase these ticket packages once they go on sale (which are expected to cost roughly $249 and $499, respectively) before everyone else. And you will help us demonstrate that the event will be well attended – a crucial part of the bid. At this time, we do not need any money. If you are interested in pledging your support through the Pre-Ticket Sales drive please send your name, contact information, and the number and type of packages that you would be interested in purchasing to VictoriaBrier2024@gmail.com with the subject ‘2024 Brier Pre-Ticket Sales’. At a later date we will follow up with you to secure a deposit, which will be fully refunded to you if the bid is not successful.
To be clear, the bid for Victoria to host the Brier in 2024 has not yet been submitted or awarded. Part of what will make the bid successful is demonstrating community enthusiasm, by way of the initiatives described above.
