Hello VCC Members and Curlers!
On behalf of the VCC Board of Directors I hope this note finds you well.
The purpose of this note is to let you know what we have been doing with regard to COVID-19 return to curl plans and associated impacts.
The Club is committed to doing all we can to make curling viable for this coming season within the safety guidelines given us by our governing bodies.
Our General Manager, Paul, and Head Ice Maker, Cody, are taking the lead in planning a safe return to curl. They and the Board of Directors have been coordinating with Curl BC and other clubs to share ideas and ensure compliance with guidelines. Curl BC is preparing general guidelines with specific action left up to each club. Given that every club is different, we need to prepare individual club plans and adjust our facility to meet all government and Curl BC directives. Given the degree of unknowns regarding what the status of the pandemic will be closer to the start of the season, we will need to keep our plans fluid.
We need to assess the economic impact to the club and require your help and input in order to do so. We have prepared a short survey (link) that will aid in our planning for the coming season. It is very important that we have as many curlers fill this out as possible at this time.
Please note that we have been informed by the Goodfellows Cafe owners that they will not be returning to offer their services at the club. The Board of Directors is looking into alternatives.
Thank you for your continued support and stay safe.
