MEMBERSHIP AND LEAGUE FEES FOR 2019 – 20 SEASON

The Victoria Curling Club is committed to keeping our membership and league fees as transparent as possible. The cost of curling in any of our leagues is directly related to the number of dates available to play during the course of a season.

Our membership structure is simple: new members pay a membership fee of $25, and returning members pay a maintenance fee of $25 – this gets you “in the door”. Further payment of Curl BC and Curling Canada association dues is required before stepping onto the ice. That is an additional $20 combined.

These fees apply only once per curler, regardless of the number of leagues played in. Previously, Curl BC and Curling Canada fees were “rolled in” to the league fees, and paid on each curler’s behalf by the Victoria Curling Club.

THE FOLLOWING FEES ARE PAYABLE ONCE PER YEAR:

Membership Fee (New Members): $25.00

Maintenance Fee (Returning Members): $25.00

Curl BC/Curling Canada Association Dues: $20.00

SPARES AND 5 PLAYER TEAMS

The Victoria Curling Club is attempting to make curling as easy and fun to join as it is to play. To that end, we are offering options when it comes to 5 person teams and sparing in our leagues. We ask our curlers to be aware that the revenue required to keep our facility open and running smoothly is almost entirely created from league and membership fees. We think this system is fair and equitable for everyone.

All VCC members registered for any league are allowed to spare in any other league free of charge. If they are not playing in another league, the curler will be charged the appropriate membership fee (or maintenance fee) and the Curl BC/Curling Canada association dues, which will then allow them to spare as a member for the season.

5 player teams are allowed. 4 players on the team must pay the regular league fees, while the 5th player must pay the appropriate membership fee (or maintenance fee) and the Curl BC/Curling Canada association dues if they have not already registered for another league at the VCC. Please note that the 5th player on teams are subject to individual league fundraising fees where applicable.

So…what is the cost to spare?

If you are playing in another league at the Club: $0.00

If you are not playing in another league at the Club: $42.00

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Click HERE to proceed to the registration pages.

We are again using “Curling I/O” to process our registrations this year. Payments can be made online at time of registration, or in person at the Club after registering. We ask, to save time and lineups at the Club, that everyone please use the online system to register before coming to make payment.

New this year, TEAM registration is accessed through the “competitions” page, and INDIVIDUAL registration is accessed through the “leagues” page. We require that both phases be completed, in order to ensure fairness to everyone in getting into a league, as we anticipate that almost all of our spots will be full this year. Please note, we are asking that you know the team you will be playing on before registering in the system.

ALSO – PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE LEAGUE YOU INTEND TO REGISTER FOR IS EXPECTING YOU – HAVE SOMEONE FROM YOUR TEAM CHECK IN WITH YOUR LEAGUE REP, OR WITH THE OFFICE IN ADVANCE OF REGISTRATION.

For more information about the registration system, please contact the office at 250.386.6396.

THANK YOU AND GOOD CURLING!
