Message from the New President

At the 2017 Annual General Meeting, the members approved important changes to the Club’s membership structure and dues. These changes will allow the Board of Directors to achieve the major objective of the club for 2017-18 to grow the membership and increase revenue. We need to bring in more curlers and to diversify the revenue stream. We can’t rely solely on membership dues and gaming grants. We also need to aggressively pursue applicable grants, sponsorships, rental opportunities and advertising.

The new directors elected at the AGM will be meeting in early July to restructure Board governance from a traditional committee approach to more flexible working teams that will draw upon membership support and expertise.

There are many good things happening at the club, we have a solid base in our ice technician and new manager, and there are more good things to come next year with hosting the BC Scotties in January to name just one.

To achieve our goals the Board is calling upon the members to help the club by volunteering and by actively bringing in new members and growing the existing leagues.

We will keep you regularly informed of developments through the usual channels. If you have concerns, questions, or ideas – let us know, either to myself, Paul, or any of the directors.

Neil Campbell
President
