CONTINUED AVAILABILITY OF PRACTICE ICE
With reference to the latest announcement by the Provincial Health Officer, that adult team sporting activities are still on "pause", we have made the decision to continue to provide booked practice ice for our members, while we have ice in. Our intent is to hold our ice and provide opportunities for recreation (while adhering to the provincial guidelines - 2 people per sheet maximum) for as long as there is still a chance of resuming "normal" league play operations within a reasonable time frame.
In November, we began to offer Saturday ice time that was bookable and paid in advance, and when we received the order to shut down a couple of weeks before our (regularly scheduled) Christmas break, we expanded on that availability.
We are operating the ice availability on a "skeleton crew" basis right now, but with fewer people in the building, our cleaning protocols are continuing to be adhered to, and the time is being spent to prep the ice before each available time block.
We have some limited time available this Saturday, but starting next week, we intend to open up ice on the following schedule:
MONDAY: 11am - 2pm // 6:30pm - 8:30pm
TUESDAY: 11am - 2pm // 6:30pm - 8:30pm
WEDNESDAY: 11am - 2pm // 6:30pm - 8:30pm
THURSDAY: 11am - 2pm // 5pm - 8pm
SATURDAY: 1pm - 4pm
Thank you to everyone who has been taking advantage of the ice to date - as long as we can continue to keep the lights on and the plant running, based on the numbers, we will do so. These are unusual circumstances, and we appreciate your support.
We will be making some hard decisions in the next few weeks, and we thank you for your patience while the season remains in limbo, as we wait for further guidance from our governing bodies.
On behalf of the rest of the staff here at the Club, Happy New Year, and we hope to see you out on the ice, in some capacity, soon!
